Hessen Universities of Applied Science Successful Recipients of Funding in Recent Federal Grant Programs The Hessen State Ministry of Higher Education, Research and the Arts is pleased to announce the top rankings of Hessen universities of applied science in four recent federal grant programs. Applications from Hessen universities of applied science were consistently successful, coming in first place with the most accepted applications for funding from SILQUA-FH (Social Innovation for Quality of Life in Old Age) and remaining among the top four recipients of funding from the other programs. Picture of the first and second cohorts of the Technische Universität Darmstadt (Germany) - Virginia Tech (USA) Dual Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Degree program. In this particular version of the program the students complete two years at TUD followed by one year at Virginia Tech. Upon successful completion of this program, the students earn a BS in Mechanical and Process Engineering from TUD and a BS in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech. The development of these two dual degree programs was funded by the EU-US ATLANTIS program: The US participation was funded via a \$672,600 grant from the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE) in the US Dept of Education (P116J06-0015), and the European participation was funded via a €624,000 grant from the European Commission. | |
